Perhaps due to the Game-centered marketing of the VIC-20, Commodore
found its machines often classified as "game" machines. For this
reason, Joysticks and Paddles have always been an important part of
the Commodore user's peripheral list. The PC world seems to have
missed this altogether, however, having gone almost directly from
the keyboard to the mouse, with Joysticks being an expensive option
that plugged into several "sound cards".
