Commodore C64 Viatel Adapter

cbm/modems/viatelModem.gif
The Viatel Adapter, similar to the Compunet modem, is a strange beast. It plugs into the Expansion port of the Commodore 64 or Commodore 128 instead of the Commodore User/RS232 port. The expansion port is usually reserved for ROMs, Cartridges, and other devices which need direct access to the computers bus.

This modem was also built for an online carrier that was only available in Australia, and was manufactured by Viatel for Commodore. It contains an 8k ROM with a special Viatel-service terminal program.
